New Faculty Library Orientation

A one-stop guide for new faculty about the Samuel C. Williams Library's tools and resources.

Where to Find Journals and Articles

While the Library still subscribes to a number of journals, magazines, and newspapers in print, the bulk of our subscriptions are digital, and are held in one (or more) of the databases to which we subscribe.

If you know what you're looking for, start with the Journal Finder, linked to below and found under the Find tab on the website menu. It will tell you whether we subscribe to a journal and, if so, what our holdings are, print and/or digital.

If you're browsing, look to our lists of Databases, listed either alphabetically or by subject.

Find our list of databases under the Find tab on the main menu.

Document Delivery Services

ill_documentsThe Library has access to a lot of articles, but not, alas, everything ever written. To order a copy of an article that is not held here, fill out the form for an Article (click the light green box) and list all pertinent information. If you have questions, contact the Interlibrary Loan Department.

Course Materials on Reserve

Reserve Periodicals

A small number of popular periodical titles are kept at the Circulation Desk for a current rolling 3-month period. Reserve periodicals can be borrowed for 2 hours and can only be used in the Library.

Faculty wanting to place journals on reserve should complete a Course Material Reserve Form and submit it along with the material being sent to the Library. Please note that it is important that all items on the form be completed as thoroughly as possible. Forms and material should be sent to the attention of John Cruz, Circulation Services Manager.
